A high-caliber independent music professional, Joshua currently resides in the Bay Area.  He served as artistic advisor and producer for the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas in New York for five years; these activities led to a PhD in composition following important research on Mexican orchestral music.  His activities as a composer include newly commissioned works (mainly for orchestra and chamber groups), film music, and arranging (with a particular interested in popular music for chamber groups).  A seasoned educator, Joshua currently directs the music program at the Hiller campus of the Bentley School in Oakland; he previously held teaching positions at Brooklyn ConservatoryiSchool for Music and Art and Brooklyn College.  He is an accomplished church musician as well as a music director for theater productions; the depth of his keyboard skills are evident in his ability to sight-read, play by ear, transpose or improvise depending on the needs of the situation
